Math activities at home:
The activities in this section are intended to be enjoyable and inviting and use items that can be found in your home. While doing the activities, keep in mind that an understanding of math and a sense that math is enjoyable will help children develop skills that they will need for success their entire lives. Today, math includes much more than arithmetic. Even in elementary school, children should be learning beginning concepts in algebra, geometry, measurement, and statistics. In addition, they should be learning how to solve problems by applying a knowledge of math to new situations, to understand math concepts, to reason mathematically, and to communicate mathematical ideas by talking and writing about math.
